This dfd gave the gift of swimming to our three legged dog. She’s 7 and missing a front leg, so we really just got this life jacket to make wading more comfortable for her... but she jumped right in and swims like a champ! It doesn’t balance her forward too much like other life jackets, so she can keep her head up even with only one front paw. Turns out she’s a total water dog, and we go for swims a couple evenings a week now. Total game changer. Also, our dog has a pointy chest, so the strap system really works great. Other jackets have a single panel that goes under the belly, and those just didn’t fit on her. This this should really fit any dog. Thanks Ezydog for helping our pup swim for the first time in 5 years!

This is the second DFD life jacket that I purchase. It fits well, it is well made, and it has a strong lifting handle. The straps are wide, so they spread the load and are comfortable for the dog. I would have given it 5-stars, except for a feature that was deleted in the newer models: the zippered pocket on top. I use the life jacket on my dog when I take her ashore from my boat on a dinghy. I would use the zippered pocket on the previous jacket to store a couple of dog waste bags. The new design does not have have a pocket at all.

Got this life vest for my 8 month old lab to build her confidence and for an upcoming trip to Lake Michigan. This really helped get her excited to swim and fine tune her mobility in the water! I love that there’s a sturdy ring to attach my 30’ lead! The red is really bright and holds up well against dirt. The lift handle is strong enough for me to lift 80lbs of squirming dog! While I have yet to try it in rough waters, I can see already this will fit the bill. It keeps her back end up so she can swim naturally! The ONLY reasons holding me back from 5 stars are 2 design flaws that could easily be changed if EZYDOG ever makes a newer model.... 1. The D ring to attach a rope/leash should swivel. I’d pay extra for that! I find when my dog turns in the water I struggle to keep my lead from getting caught under her neck. 2. The strap that goes under the neck doesn’t really telescope. As my dog’s chest and neck grow, the neck strap lengthens but the floatation part then ends up to only the right side which doesn’t help keep her head above water like other vests. Which, if there is ever an accident in the water, such as extreme fatigue or loss of consciousness, she could still drown by water getting in her mouth. Otherwise.... this truly does keep her afloat even when she dives in! Much better than the one the dock diving school provided us!

Absolutely a great product! Well built and no signs of discomfort after 4 continuous days of use. I suspect these are built to last.

I bought this DFD for a last second "you've been invited to a doggy swim day" event...to be clear, my dog is a front limb amputee and I didn't know his swim background (I adopted him). I did a little research and found this DFD was recommended for tripawds, but most were rear limb amps. I bought it anyway and I have no regrets. My dog was hesitant about being in a pool at first, but the handle this jacket has on the back helped me guide him around until he was comfortable. It also has a leash ring. I let him go and he had a blast - not once did the jacket shift or cause him to nose-dive. I highly recommend this to those front amp tripawd owners! For reference, my dog is a beagle/shepherd mix, 33 lbs, 23'' girth, complete right front limb amputation (scapula remains) - he wears a size small in this jacket.

I’ve had several dog life jackets in the past that my dogs have used in western rivers, lakes, and the Gulf of Thailand when we brought our German Shepherd there for one year. I decided to get a good one this time, and this seems to be it. I haven’t used this in water yet, but the fit and sewing are better than the others.

Bought these 4 years ago and no signs of wear. I have a Lab and Golden Retriever 65 pounds each. While boating I can lift my dogs from the water using the handle. Heavy wet dogs but the handle is strong enough to handle that. My dogs love putting on their vest as that means it’s time to go swimming. Super comfy for them. They technically don’t need the life vest as they are excellent swimmers. But the vest make them easily visible by other boaters which is critical. When they start wrestling while swimming and fighting over the ball my wife doesn’t freak out so much. Not cheap but highest quality and you get what you pay for. Pass on the ones at the local pet stores. You won’t be disappointed.

This lifejacket is very easy to get on the pups...even when they don't really want to wear it. But once its on them, they ignore it and run around like its not even there. They can swim quite easily as it doesn't restrict their movement. Will buy again if my pup requires a larger size. very durable
