A Revolutionary Dog Training Harness

The Crosscheck Harness is the best harness to control your dog's pulling desire by requesting attention via their girth. It functions similarly to a martingale collar but instead requests attention around the dog's girth rather than its neck. This alternative limited-slip system allows the handler to request attention as the dog begins to pull, teaching the dog to walk beside them in an effective and humane way while doubling as a solution for escape artists. (US Patent App. No.17/603,903)

The side attachment feature is most effective when the dog is on the left side of the handler (although it is possible to switch this over for right hand walks). For Best Results pair with a short non-shock absorbing leash such as the Vario 4 Leash.

An Escape Proof Dog Harness

Using a simple figure eight configuration, this secure harness is incredibly easy to fit and hard for escape-prone dogs to wiggle out of. The front section of the harness goes over the dog's head much like a Quick-Fit Harness, with the girth strap completing the fitment with a simple side release buckle connection. Here's why the Crosscheck makes a great no- escape harness:

  • Adjustable: The more points of adjustment a harness has, the more snug fit —and escape-proof—it will be. Always measure your dog to find the right size to start with. Our adjustable straps help you get the perfect fit or a large dog or small dog.
  • Durable material: If your dog pulls, chews or tugs to get out of the harness, you'll need a harness with strong material.
  • Extra strap: The belly strap helps keep your dog secure in the harness.
  • Martingale attachments: The side martingale style attachment system gives extra control over dogs that pull.

The Perfect Training Harness For Escape Artist Dogs

The Crosscheck Harness has been successfully tested on different sizes and breeds for no pull training. This particular harness is perfect for puppies and young dogs that are in training. Teaching a dog at a young age not only not to pull, but to walk on the side makes for pleasant walking for years to come. The unique Crosscheck Harness feature can also be used to remedy the bad habits of a fully-grown dog that pulls.

With two leash attachment points, the handler has the option of using the harness as a dog training harness or walking harness.

  • Caution: Do not leave on dog unattended.
  • Caution: PLEASE do not ever leave a dog tied up. Doing so with any EzyDog harness or collar will void the warranty. Thanks for caring about the safety of your dog!

For best fit measure the girth of the dog. This is the area behind the front legs and around the body. The neck will typically fall into place once girth is determined. If the measurement is close to the end of the size range, go up to the larger size.

Fitting Instructions

  1. Place front loop, (section with silicone liner) over dog's head.
  2. Unclip side release buckle, and feed rear webbing around dog's girth
  3. Reconnect side release buckle and tighten until snug, but not too tight (being able to fit one or two fingers in between the strapping is ideal)

    Worth Every Penny

Posted by Kristen on 7th Jul 2023

I'm terrible about writing reviews, but after coming in from our first walk using these harness with our two small, but mighty pug mixes who pull more like sled dogs, I am beyond happy with this purchase. Obviously hard to put a number on, but pulling was reduced by at least 70% and I can absolutely see with more practice and training finally being able to enjoy a leisurely walk with both dogs. Thank you so much for developing this product!

    Cross check harness

I’ve spent an exorbitant amount of money trying to find a harness that’s easy on and off for my corgi puppies that doesn’t restrict their movement. This is the best fitting harness for their body type. The harness doesn’t restrict their shoulder or chest movement. I don’t need an anti pull harness just an easy on and off harness for everyday activities when out and about. It’s lightweight and medium was the perfect size for both dogs. Wish there were more color choices in the cross check harness.

Best Harness for Quality and Control

Posted by Emma & Badger on 18th Aug 2021

Absolutely love this harness. The XL fits my 85lb GSD great! The cinch action allows for teaching him how to walk properly on a leash. Still needs training, but he isn’t hauling me around any more <3 Plus, the quality is better than anything else I’ve found. Absolutely worth the money. The XL is too big for my 66 lb female though.

    Figure 8 cross check harness

Posted by CATHY STACY on 8th Jun 2021

I have a dog that can get out of 95% of the harnesses on the market. The Cross Check harness is one of only two harnesses he can't get out of. I've spent well over $100 trying to find a harness he's comfortable in and that he can't get out of. The figure 8 Cross Check harness fulfills both requirements. Definitely worth the money and I'd recommend it to all dog owners.

    Great product

Adjustable and comfortable for our growing pup. Sturdy stitch and so likely will last a long time. The puppy is not bothered by the feel of it too.

    Holy Grail Harness

Posted by Michelle on 30th Apr 2021

This is one of the only harnesses my dog hasn't been able to get out of and by far the easiest to put on. The only downside is that the harness does loosen on walks, but this occurred with our martingale too and is, I think, an inevitable result of the friction between the muscles and the adjustable banding. The setup seems to be much more comfortable than a martingale as well, since my pup tried to bite her martingale off but did not (could not) attempt to do so with this Crosscheck harness. We will never leave home without it in the future.
