What is a Martingale Collar?
The EzyDog martingale design provides more control over your dog without the risk of choking effects much like competitor slip collars and choke collars do. These adjustable dog collars are extensively used in dog training and also used to help keep your dog's head from slipping out of the collar during walks or when the dog gets overly excited. The EzyDog Checkmate martingale (control) collar is made with two loops. The larger loop is slipped onto the dogs neck and a leash is then clipped to the smaller loop. When the dog tries to pull, the tension on the leash pulls the small loop taut, which makes the large loop smaller and tighter on the neck, thus helping to prevent escape. When the Checkmate Collar is properly fitted, it will be comfortably loose without your dog noticing it much until the dog begins to pull.

GREAT Product
This is the second one I purchased. The first one I left out after giving my dog a bath and he chewed it up, but I wouldn't go with any other brand. This is a very durable and comfortable for all dogs. Also has the nice built-in choke collar which is a great feature. I would highly recommend this product!

Great collars, great colors.
Bought one for each dog in bright colors, concerned with their safety during hunting season. The collars really show up, and the training cinch works well as a non-painful correction. Great!

Great Collar!
I use the Checkmate collar with my 80 lb. American Bulldog/Staff mix and it works perfectly! I recently added another to my family, an APBT/Boxer mix who is learning leash walking and pulls and the Checkmate collar is doing wonders for her. I've recommended this product to many and will continue to do so!

Excellent for dogs that can slip out of their collars
I have used this collar on my now 8 year old Golden Retriever for 6 years. He is a high Energy, wonderful dog. This collar is the best "Martingale", type collar that I have found. It does not damage his neck and is easy to remove.

well made collar just wish the medium was wider
bought this for our 10mo german shepherd dog, 65 lbs and the medium size is the right circumference yet the width of the webbing seems too narrow. I still prefer the design of this collar but don't get the control I need.

Works like I wanted it too
I have a working dog and when I have him on a short leash instead of his harness he tends to pull. He gets very excited to go and work so I need a choker on him but I don't like the metal choke collars and I still need to have his tags on the collar. So this works perfectly. Also when they say Blaze orange they mean BLAZE orange I was surprised to see how bright it actually was which was even better then I had hoped.

I love, love, love this company! This is the best no slip collar I have ever come across! I buy two of these every year, only because my dog gets so dirty that I have to scrub his collar constantly. Plus, I like nice fresh bright colors! I pass my collars on to other peoples dogs when I buy a new one, and the original checkmate collar I bought for my dog years ago, is still going strong. You can adjust this so it will stay on your dogs head without choking them when to do try to slip. This is the only no slip type collar I've found that has an adjustable limit on how tight it will get. I had a very bad reoccurring problem with OTHER no slip collars, that involved other dogs getting their legs caught in the slip section of my dogs collar while playing (very scary). That's why they say never leave your dog unattended while on a leash or in a choker type collar. Thankfully, (maybe because THIS collar has such a tailored fit) I haven't had one bad incident in the several years of using this collar. I am a loyal customer. All EZYDOG products are superior in quality. Their life vests and backpacks are incomparable when it comes to performance. I really hope this company never stops making these great products!

Excellent collar, highest quality
Works as well as chain-style constriction collar but is much gentler and certainly better looking. Extremely well made of high quality materials. I would highly recommend this collar.
