Double as a Service Dog Harness
The sturdy and rugged Convert Dog Harness vest has many functions. It provides security and pinch-free restraint for hikes. It can withstand substantial resistance, because it distributes the load across the chest and around the sides, rather than pulling across the throat the way a traditional collar does. You and your service dog can go anywhere. Your service dog vest should be able to do the same! A good match with the dog harness would be to pair it with an EzyDog dog leash for the ultimate in dog control.
Size & Fitting Instructions
|Size||Girth Inches||Girth cm|
1. LOOSEN THE CHEST VELCRO STRAP
2. PLACE THE HARNESS ON THE DOG
3. ADJUST THE CHEST STRAP SO THAT THE HARNESS IS POSITIONED COMFORTABLY BEHIND THE DOG'S FRONT LEGS
4. CLIP THE GIRTH STRAP TOGETHER AND ADJUST SO THAT IT FITS SNUG BUT NOT TOO TIGHT
TIP: KEEP THE CHEST STRAP A LITTLE LOOSE SO THAT THE GIRTH STRAP DOES NOT PULL INTO YOUR DOG'S LEGS
IMPORTANT: DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN STRAPS! WHEN FITTED CORRECTLY, HARNESS SHOULD BE SNUG, BUT TWO FINGERS SHOULD EASILY RUN BETWEEN STRAPS & DOG.

Not For Every Dog
"My dog is missing his front right leg. Thus the harness rotates around his torso. I don't want to over tighten the bottom strap to make him uncomfortable. His radiation site is very close to the strap.
The harness is well made and looks good on him but the fit is not as good as he would like it to be ! "

Best Dog Harness on the Market
"I could not be more pleased with this product. I adopted a one year old mixed breed who had never been on a leash. I found out quickly he was a "puller." By the second day, with this harness, he was walking right beside me. This is the best harness one can purchase and is well worth paying a little extra for. "

"I love this harness! It's easy to put on and take off. I purchased 2 of these for my dogs. Both dogs come to work every day with me and one is protective. The handle on the harness makes it very easy for me to hold him and let him know it's ok when people come in. Since both dogs are between 70-80 lbs. this harness makes it easy to hold them back when walking"

Ez Peazy Harness
"My pitty is typically fearful of harnesses, the easy velcro strap around the body allowed us to put on her without fear of going over her head. She felt snug, and easier to control and she also obeyed commands so much quicker than usual. LOVE THIS HARNESS!"

"Was looking for a harness for our Service Dog in training that was more compact to the standard Service Dog vest. I love the changeable labels. Fits her well now (55 lb Great Pyrenees/lab) at 6 months with hopefully enough room to grow as she does. "

Sturdy control for trained dogs. Displays duty information easily.
"Good value for money. Chest strap distributes force away from throat. Would not hold an out of control dog, but it is perfect for trained dogs needing to comply with leash laws. Velcro side labels make display of duty information an easy swap. Go from therapy to search & rescue, to search & seizure with a quick label swap."

Size Large - Service Dog Harness-Worn Daily - 60lb mix breed
"I have come over to EZYDOG Convert Harness from my Dean & Tyler DT-Fun Harness because I thought the saddlebags were the solution for some on-going travel issues, specifically carrying his crap + my crap is too much crap but I didn't want him stuck with a big backpack while in the tight spot on a plane (I will write more in about this in the saddlebag review). Comparatively speaking, the Convert Harness is about equal to the DT Harness in terms of quality (very well made), but there are some things done better, some worse, and some I haven't figured out yet.
The good/great: harness is well made, clips are durable and secure, the handle is *so* much better than the DT one. The harness is fairly easy to adjust for size and the color (blue) is lovely.
The less good/less great: I am not in love with the velcro on the chest strap. I noticed I had adjusted it too short for the dog and his girth strap was rubbing to close to his front legs. I prefer the DTFun chest girth which is adjusted similarly to the EZYDOG girth strap. That said, most service dog harnesses use the velcro chest closure (including DT works harness) so this is just a personal choice thing. Also, my white & blue service dog patch purchased with the harness is just a little too long to fit on it correctly. It works okay with the saddlebags but if I wanted to switch them over to his harness they are too long and snag all sorts of lovely uckiness into the extra velcro.
Stuff I haven't figured out yet:: there is a loop (maybe a pen loop? my SD rarely writes...;)) over the left side of the patch...at first I thought it was a mistake in construction, but no--it's meant to be there. There is also an odd plastic rectangle on the girth adjustment that I also am not quite sure why it is there. If I ever figure these out I will update the review. :)
I will say that the customer service at EZYDOG is fabulous and a full 5 stars. :)
Thank you for your insight Heather! The loop on top of the Convert is just another way to attach an accessory if you choose. A small flashlight works great in that space. The extra piece on the girth strap is an accessory for commercial (Police and Customs) use that is really not applicable for traditional use."
